About Phurba (Ritual Dagger)
The Phurba which is also known as the Kīla or ritual dagger, is one of the most powerful sacred objects in Tibetan Buddhism and Himalayan tantric tradition.
Far more than a weapon, it is a spiritual tool used to cut through negative energies, dispel obstacles, and anchor meditative focus. Its three-sided steel blade symbolizes the conquering of the three root poisons i.e., ignorance, attachment, and aversion while its triangular form represents transformation and the fierce, protective aspect of enlightenment.
The brass handle is crowned with the three wrathful faces of the Phurba deity, each wearing a serene expression of compassionate ferocity, topped by a half-vajra symbolizing indestructible truth.
Below, the eight-faceted shaft is adorned with two woven eternal knots, and a fearsome makara head disgorges entwined serpents that flow gracefully down the blade, a traditional iconographic detail representing the binding and subduing of harmful forces.
Each piece rests on a detachable triangular lotus base, allowing it to be proudly displayed on any altar or shrine, that is included.
Perfect for meditation practitioners, Buddhist shrines, collectors, or as a meaningful collector's piece, this Phurba brings ancient sacred symbolism and exquisite Himalayan craftsmanship into your space.
