Description

This Yogi Singing Bowl features a person, sitting in a lotus position or Padmasana, in the centre of the inner-base of the bowl. Padmasana is a cross-legged sitting meditation pose from ancient India.

This singing bowl also features the Hindu Kundalini Yoga chakra system that consists of 7 chakras - the crown, third eye, throat, heart, solar plexus, hara and root. A chakra is a wheel or a circle in English. They are the energy centres that run along the centre of the human body. These spinning energy circle can influence our physical and emotional well being. By unblocking individual self chakras, the individual can enhance spiritual growth, overcome mental barriers, and broaden one's consciousness. They are surrounded by Tibetan mandalas, symbols and motifs which are one of the most complex iconographies in any religion of the world.

The singing bowl is meticulously hand-hammered, tuned, polished, and etched with intricate detail by our Newari artisans in Nepal. The sound of the bowl is tested thoughtfully to meet the highest standards. It takes a long time to craft the bowl. It is made of high-quality bronze.

While the individual in the lotus position is the central design element located in the inner center of each singing bowl, the etched designs on the inner and outer walls, as well as the outer surface, could vary from bowl to bowl as it embodies the artists' natural creativity, reflected in every piece they craft.

The singing bowl measures 21-22 cm in diameter, weighing 1.4 kg.

The singing bowl is ideal for deep meditation and sound therapy, producing calming tones that ease the mind. It also serves as a meaningful gift for loved ones.

About Sound Recording

The sound recording serves as an example of the singing bowl’s sound. As each singing bowl is handcrafted, slight variations in tone and resonance may occur.

The sound is recorded from the same size range and category of the singing bowl.

About Sizes & Craftsmanship

Since, each singing bowl is handcrafted, making no two bowls the same. We categorise our singing bowls by size in one of three ways: a diameter range (e.g. 19-21 cm, 21–22 cm), an approximate measurement, or an exact diameter. Also, the weight will vary from bowl to bowl which means no two bowls will have the same weight.

The marks left by the crafting process such as hammer marks, subtle scratches, and slight surface variations, are a natural part of every bowl. They're signs of authentic, hand craftsmanship, not imperfections.

For etched singing bowls category, each design is individually finished. Variations in patterns and motifs may occur across the inner walls, outer walls, and outer base from bowl to bowl, while the central inner base design remains consistent. The product images on the respective page reflect the overall style and craftsmanship of the bowl.

Traditional Hand-craftsmanship

Each bowl starts as a flat piece of metal alloys and is gradually shaped, refined, and polished by hand. Depending on the design, it may also be etched or hand-carved with symbolic patterns.
