About Manjushri Buddha

Manjushri is the Bodhisattva which represents Transcendent Wisdom of the Buddhas in Tibetan Buddhism. He is considered the oldest and most significant bodhisattva in the entire tradition.

This is the Youth Manjushri form, his right hand raising the Sword of Wisdom that cuts through ignorance, his left holding a lotus upon which rests the scripture of transcendent wisdom. The sword represents clarity of mind, the lotus represents purity, and the Vitarka Mudra is the gesture of teaching.
