About Garuda
Garuda kneels in devotion with hands pressed together, wings spread wide, eyes fierce and alert. He is the King of Birds and one of the most powerful protective figures in both Hindu and Buddhist traditions. In Nepal, ancient palaces in the Kathmandu Valley place Garuda statues at their gates as guardians.
In Hinduism, Garuda is the divine mount of Vishnu, the preserver of the universe. In Buddhism, he is a guardian of the Dharma who wards off negative forces and clears the path toward enlightenment. His wings represent the union of method and wisdom and his namaste hand gesture, deep reverence and devotion.
A powerful symbol of protection and spiritual freedom for your home altar, meditation room, or as a meaningful gift.
